The latest version of TARGIT BI Suite has arrived! 2K11 presents a mix of new features while enhancing existing features that support the vision of providing the world′s best BI software, empowering the user to TARGIT his decisions in fewest clicks.

In the following, you will find a presentation of the most important new features and changes.


In TARGIT BI Suite 2K11, the fundamental functionality of the use of criteria in the product has become thoroughly improved - also in TARGIT NET. It has resulted in an even more user-friendly solution which makes it possible for you to create and utilize analyses faster and with a greater overview than ever before.

Criteria and Comparisons editor gives you a clearer overview

Now you get a new dialog-based editor for Criteria and Comparisons meaning fewer clicks to set up your criteria and comparisons. The editor offers you a clearer overview of your criteria and comparisons. The smartpad has also become clearer and adjusts to the number of chosen global and local criteria.

Initial criteria: Make everyday life easier

You now have the new exciting option to specify initial criteria. Basically, initial criteria are applied by an administrator to give the users access to selected data only - as a starting point. The users will save clicks by not having to apply the criteria themselves and save the time they would have spent looking at irrelevant data.

Range operators will help you save clicks

This feature basically works like the classic criteria types in the criteria editor but will save you clicks. The feature allows you to select simple from-and-to values with the new "between..." and "not between..." criteria instead of having to add several criteria, such as "less than or equal to", "greater than or equal to" and so on, to determine your desired range elements.

Improved drilling

The drilling improvements make drilling more logical, intuitive and much more user friendly since selection is now based on order of visual appearance in your client.

Auto-resizing gives you optimal overview

The layout of the criteria bar will adjust automatically for the optimal use of the available space, giving you the best possible overview of your criteria at all times.

New drop-down menus make life easier

We have improved the drop-down menus. When you open a criteria drop-down, a new window appears with much richer content than before. It is a light-weight version of the criteria editor where criteria based on the equal operator are specified swiftly and with fewer clicks.

You can add a new Stored Criteria drop-down to the Criteria Bar by right-clicking. It allows quick selection of stored criteria (document or shared).

Also, a new Measure drop-down can be added that may substitute one measure with another for the whole analysis in a single click.

To work with dynamic time gets even easier

Now it is even easier to select standard criteria when you are working with dynamic time. If a time hierarchy is set up to use dynamic time, then the drop-down can be shifted to support dynamic time and present dynamic time shortcut options instead of the normal member selection. Furthermore, the dynamic date origin can be added to the Criteria Bar.

Explanation boxes and icons increase insight

If operators other than equal are used for a given hierarchy, a small yellow information icon is shown indicating that despite the drop-down states "No selection", there is indeed a criteria set on this hierarchy. Clicking the icon will show the current criteria.

You will get a fast overview of your hierarchies which are shown with a supporting icon indicating if this is a multi-level or single-level hierarchy. Clicking the icon will show an explanation box.

In addition: Search is now integrated and is accessible even when the drop-down is closed.


Quick overview directly on your iPhone

In the new version, we also welcome TARGIT iTop - an add-on for the Desktop client, which provides you with a lightening quick overview on your iPhone - making it possible to react fast, from anywhere. With TARGIT iTop, you receive data in its right form and in the right context: A fast overview at the exact time you need it.


In the latest version we have provided the users with the opportunity to work with Sentinels that make it possible to discover and react on market changes faster than ever before.

Visualization of Sentinel rules

Now, you can get even more insight into your Sentinels. When you have found a Sentinel rule, you can have a visualization of the underlying pattern that the datamining finds. You can use this visualization for further analysis of the found connections, or you can use the datamining in order to be extra sure of your Sentinel′s predictions prior to scheduling.

Improved intelligence

In 2K11 we give you improved performance with a new, updated datamining algorithm that finds the best Sentinels much faster. Sentinels now include caching of option-choice and remember the settings from your latest Sentinels search. Also, you have a new option of selecting all the Sentinels found in just one click in order to schedule these as a "Sentinel Swarm".

Reporting Services

More powerful reporting with more resources

In the 2K11 version, we have released more resources in order to give you an even more powerful reporting solution by removing the support for Reporting Services. This leaves you with the built-in reporting which is by far a much more powerful reporting solution. However, you still have the option of reviewing the user interface for Reporting Services Web.

Architecture and administration

In 2K11 we have improved the scalability in multiple-user solutions in general. Over the recent years, large enterprises have had an increasing focus on server consolidation, and in the 2K11 version, we have improved our ability to support this trend. Moreover, we have reduced the number of animations in TARGIT Desktop when it automatically detects that it is being used in for instance a Citrix environment.


This new feature actually allows you to have more users on the same server without overloading it and will make time spent in TARGIT NET more efficient. The benefits of using 64 bit TARGIT NET are most apparent when you have a large amount of RAM installed on your computer (typically 4 GB of RAM or more). A 64 bit operating system can handle large amounts of memory more efficiently than a 32 bit operating system can.
